Miller Wedding- Veterans Terrace, Burlington WI

Gear up everyone, this is going to be a long one! Celebrating Maddy & Neal at their Veterans Terrace wedding was a much-awaited day by so many. Their original wedding plans of hosting their wedding on New Years Eve in 2020 had to be rescheduled, as we can all imagine. When Maddy told me the news I was super bummed for them, but Maddy had a very positive attitude. I was just thankful that I was going to be available for their new date, because I knew this day was going to be one for the books.

I tended bar with Maddy at a local bar in Menomonie, WI while we were both going to UW-Stout. She was always so positive and personable, and I admired how she could help me remain calm on stressful evenings at work. While working with Maddy, I also become familiar with her friends who visited often, and to be honest, were the best customers we had! Neal was part of the group that honestly made tending bar fun, and I quickly noticed the relationship between Maddy & Neal form.

After graduation, a couple years past. Maddy reached out about my availability, and if I could document their engagement and wedding day. Of course, I thought, HECK YES! I drove down to Burlington, WI to photograph some moments for engagement photos, and we got to catch up on life. Maddy showed me around their absolutely adorable home that she has decorated perfectly (I’m low-key jealous of her decorating skills), and I can’t forget witnessing their love for their pup, Colt!

Fast forward, after all the rescheduling of their wedding, and May 1st arrived. The day started out at Maddy & Neal’s house where the girls were getting ready with the best makeup/hair service setup I’ve ever seen. It was so good to see a lot of the girls I knew from college. They were so dang excited to celebrate Maddy & Neal. Tons of laughter filled the room, along with stories from good ol’ Stout. Of course, everyone was so dang excited for the day. Maddy had her makeup done by Andrew Kawalec in Burlington, WI. He is an incredible makeup artist, and someone I’m so happy I got to meet, along with the makeup team of Kate Schelwat. Also, seeing Maddy in her gown designed by Allure Bridal from the Wedding Shoppe in Minnesota had me smiling ear to ear!

The Blush and Braids Beauty Bar did a fantastic job on all of the hairstyles for the girls. Between fun updo’s to romantic curls with pins, everything complimented the black dresses the girls had from David’s Bridal perfectly!

I had the best second photographer hanging out with me during the day, Jamie Kempen with Jamie Kempen Photography. She hung out with the guys documenting some moments while getting ready over at Neal’s parents home. The guys got all suited up in their suits from Heimie’s Haberdashery, and they were looking slick! After we were all ready, everyone headed to Saint Charles Church in Burlington, WI to for the ceremony. Friends and family filled the church to witness the couple exchange their vows and start the next chapter in their lives.

After the ceremony, we headed to Veterans Terrace, which was an incredible venue and the perfect piece to their story. There was tons of space outside along the river to hang out. It also had a romantic balcony with bistro lighting that could also be a space used for a ceremony spot. The venue was truly perfect. It was so awesome to see all the details that they planned for their Veterans Terrace wedding come together!

From the bar to the amazing speeches, to the most EPIC GRAND MARCH I’ve ever seen a wedding party do, this wedding rocked. They also had an outstanding live performance from the band Lunchmoney Bullies. Seriously, everyone needs to book this band ASAP. I felt like I was at the best concert of my life! Guests packed the dance floor all night long, and I felt like I was reliving a night out in college! This day was full of endless happiness and laughter and just a damn good time. Maddy & Neal, a huge congratulations and thank you – like more than words can describe – for having me be part of your Veterans Terrace wedding day. Here’s to many years of happiness and good times!
